“Løkka lever”
The launch of Dag Vidar Hanstad's book on talent development in Norwegian football.
Dag Vidar Hanstad, my father, self-published the book “Løkka lever” on August 4, 2026. When we started working together early in the spring, everything around the book itself was missing. I took on building it: the website, the payment solution, the email list, the marketing and the system that ties it all together. Just three weeks after the book came out, he is ordering a new print run.

“Self-publishing a book has its challenges, and I wasn't sure it would even break even.
I was confident in the content of the book, but everything else (online store, payments, logistics, marketing) was a big question mark. Without a good system, “Løkka lever” would have been a book few people found.
Jacob took full responsibility for the whole launch: a beautiful website with Vipps and invoice payment, an email list, ads, a launch sequence and a setup for ongoing operations that I can run on my own. Just over two weeks after publication, we had sold around 700 books and had more than 600 people on the newsletter.
What I appreciate most is that the system now largely runs itself. Every order is booked automatically, customers get what they should, and I can spend my time on my own field instead of fiddling with things I neither know how to do nor want to spend time on.
For an academic like me, it has been invaluable to have someone who both understands the content and builds the machinery around it.”

The delivery
How it was done
Website and QR universe — a website with Vipps (Norway's leading mobile payment app) and invoice payment, built from scratch. The book has eleven QR codes that open private chapter rooms with more than 80 videos, including with Ståle Solbakken and Oscar Bobb. On top of that, a number of separate, closed landing pages for other projects, clubs and events.
Marketing engine — a marketing plan, advertising and tracking set up and run, a lead magnet that collected emails, an email launch sequence, and a CMS that makes it easy for Dag Vidar to write articles and blog posts himself.
Bonus pack that became an upsell — a digital workbook in three versions for players, parents and coaches, with 50 exclusive videos behind closed QR rooms. During the launch window it came with the book along with other bonuses, with a clear deadline. When the deadline passed, it became a paid add-on at checkout.
Operations and handover — every order is booked automatically with a receipt, and a dedicated operations manual means he runs the store himself. The system is his, and it mostly runs entirely without me.
